"Caracas se escribe con C de 'caos'"

La frase de un amigo. I only ask myself, how the FUCK do people live in that country? I still can't believe that I lived there and actually GOT USED to that chaos. It doesn't matter if you wake up early or late, it all boils down to if it rains or not. The traffic, the delays in the bank, the traffic, the fact that is "quincena", the rain, the traffic... My friend has spent more than an hour stuck in traffic. And it's not random. It is everyday. I shouldn't be arrogant about it, but it takes me 7 minutes to get to work. And yes, this city has traffic. AND A LOT. Try the Palmetto or the Turnpike or the US1 during rush hour. It will drive you insane. Yet, it is not the norm. Yet, in Caracas, it has become the norm. Actually, Venezuelans have grown used to it and they accept it. They have learned to live with it. Have Venezuelans become USED to ANYTHING?

  1. us venezuelans get used to anything/everything
because it's the politics here... too much politics can turn a country numb and passive... always expecting for things to settle just because we vote for that, and that's why initiatives and individual actions to change the status quo, are always regarded with suspicion
